SINGLE COAT SUPREME
Single Coat Supreme
Single Coat Supreme products are specially formulated gypsum plaster, which can be hand applied over any normal walls/solid backgrounds, in single application in normal thickness. Good surface finish & good impact strength are its unique properties. Single Coat Supreme is a calcium sulphate hemi hydrate gypsum plaster with additives including light weight aggregate. It attains early strength & does not suffer from inherent shrinkage cracks. It sets hard in a matter of hours & attains maximum strength & bonding on drying.
Two varieties are available as Single Coat (Supreme) and Single Coat (Premium). These are recommended to be used depending upon the type of background. These are specially formulated to suit Indian climatic/site working conditions.
Description
Application
- The background should be suitably wetted 10 minutes prior to plastering to displace trapped air and facilitate good contact and bonding between the plaster and the background.
- Plaster wet mix is prepared by mixing powder with clean water to achieve a workable consistency. The wet mix is then applied to a rigid surface using a trowel, at the required thickness, following the level strips fixed as reference guidelines.
- The best results are obtained by applying a light coat with firm pressure.
- The entire wall surface is plastered in line and level. As the plaster progressively stiffens, flattening and finishing should be carried out.
- When the plaster has sufficiently set, the surface should be finished with a sponge coat using a light application of water. The finishing is then completed with a slurry coat, using a trowel to achieve a smooth final surface.
Benefits
- Low Density, Higher Coverage: Its low density provides better coverage while maintaining all its built-in properties. The coverage of Single Coat (Supreme) is approximately 62 m² per metric ton at a normal thickness of 12 mm, whereas the coverage of Single Coat (Premium) is approximately 65 m² per metric ton.
- Gradual Setting with No Shrinkage Cracks: Once the plaster attains strength, it does not suffer from inherent shrinkage cracks. The setting time is approximately 10–15 minutes after mixing with water. The setting progresses evenly and gradually until the surface is hard enough to receive the final trowel stroke, at approximately 20–25 minutes.
- No Water Curing Required: The plaster does not require water curing after application, thus saving time, water consumption, and manpower.
This helps to complete projects faster.
- Strong Bonding & Good Strength: It sets hard within a few hours, ensuring continuity, and attains maximum strength upon drying. Once completely dry, it develops strong bonding with most solid backgrounds.

- Easy Workability: It is formulated for easy mixing, spreading, and application by regular POP workers using conventional hand-application practices.
- Thickness: A plaster thickness of 12 mm is recommended for uneven backgrounds, while it should not exceed 10 mm on level and even backgrounds. If the required thickness exceeds 15 mm, the plaster should be applied in two successive coats.
- In-Built Properties: The plaster is non-combustible and has very low thermal conductivity (k-value), providing good thermal insulation to walls and other surfaces.
